About.
Patricia Santana is a Spanish-American director with a love for striking visuals and game-changing narratives. After studying Art and Design in Barcelona, she worked in advertising for over a decade. A turning point in her life pushed her to move to New York and pursue her dream of becoming a director. Since 2013, Patricia has worked in LA as a commercial and content director for clients like Netflix, Disney, and Wendy’s. She recently broke into TV, directing her first episode for Dynasty (The CW).
Her narrative work has been selected at Oscar-Qualifying festivals like Cinequest, Hollyshorts, and LA Shorts Fest. In 2018, Patricia had the honor to be part of the Filming WithWerner Herzog’s workshop in the jungles of Peru – an experience that changed her both as a person and as a filmmaker. Her feature script, Mal Aire, based on the short she filmed there, was selected to participate at the Torino Lab Next in 2021. She is currently working on the development of two TV shows as a co-creator and a horror feature script based on her traumatic experience with the medical system as a birthing mother.
Patricia is an alumni of the Ryan Murphy’s 2020 Half Initiative program, the 2022 Paramount’s Directing Initiative, and has recently been selected to participate in the 2022-2023 DGA WSC Squad program.
